Foundation models are converging in capability and falling in price, but the substrate underneath them is going the other direction. Rights, lineage, identity, transport, and machine-readable representation are accumulating value as the model layer commoditizes, and they are where the next decade of media operations will actually be fought. This talk walks through a reference architecture for that substrate, and shows how live sports, local broadcast, generative studios, and deep catalog owners each fight a different version of the same battle.
