A decade long-drought was snapped this past NFL season. The Carolina Panthers made the playoffs in 2017-18, but their last home playoff game was in 2015-16. That all changed when the club clinched a Wild Card berth and hosted the Los Angeles Rams at Bank of America Stadium in 2026. The Panthers suffered a last-minute defeat, but the atmosphere before, during, and after the game was unlike anything seen inside of the venue in a long time. Inside of the control room on that day as well as over the last five years is Thomas Delves, who serves as Director of Event Presentation & Production.
On the latest episode of SVG GameDay, Delves describes the playoff energy that was felt back in January, how a pregame activation featuring franchise legend Cam Newton was achieved by months of work and preparation, how the city of Charlotte is represented in the content played on the videoboard, the anticipation of stadium renovations that will be completed by 2030, how previous stops in minor league baseball with the Charlotte Knights and collegiate athletics at Western Michigan, University of South Florida, and Radford University shaped his career, how his start in production at Miami University began after competing on the swim team, and much more.
