With the chaotic sports calendar showing no signs of stopping, networks normally focus on their own dedicated events. For unique partnerships like the PGA Tour, ESPN and CBS Sports worked together to bring an elevated product to golf fans around the country. During the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY, the televised product received a new graphics package developed by each network's creative department.
At the 2023 SVG Sports Graphics Forum, CBS Sports' Art Director Komal Bhukhanwala explains the teamwork between both networks to complete this new project, previews the package that will roll out for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, and details how technologies like augmented reality are changing the way these packages are put together.
