Next month on July 22, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis will officially turn 10 years old. So many memorable moments, both for its main tenant, the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, as well as championship sporting events throughout the domestic athletics calendar, have been experienced within the building's four wall. A technological marvel for the sports-video-production community, professional football games at U.S. Bank Stadium have received a significant upgrade in production value that has dazzled patrons for a decade. Someone who has been with the organization longer than the venue's entire existence and is a key cog to these shows in the Twin Cities is Allan Wertheimer, who serves as Senior Director of Production Operations & Game Presentation.
On the latest episode of SVG GameDay, Wertheimer acknowledges the evolution of the Vikings' home field advantage over the past 10 years, how he balances his role in both production and operations, how he leans on an extremely experienced staff during the chaos of gameday, how his time as a student at Central Michigan University birthed his interest in production, how stops in local news and minor league baseball with the Fort Wayne Tin Caps cultivated his blossoming career, and much more.
