After the conclusion of the 2022-23 NBA season, Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) and the Utah Jazz embarked on one of the first direct-to-consumer services in professional sports — Jazz+. Aiming to bring Jazz basketball to fans in the state of Utah and beyond, this new digital outlet required the franchise and its ownership group to develop a new broadcast and production infrastructure.
At the SVG Regional Sports Production Summit, SEG's Chief Communications Officer Caroline Klein reflects on the platform's success in its first year, provides examples of content that were created in-house, emphasizes how important the support of Utah Jazz Owner Ryan Smith was to this project, and previews what's to come in the second year of Jazz+.
