Although professional sports is filled with so many teams consisting of a large number of employees, there's nothing like the bond of the game presentation community. It's an extremely small world where everyone knows everyone, they all cheer for each other's success, and they openly exchange best practices and advice for the betterment of fans in the seats. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that hasn't crossed paths with Chris DeRuyscher, who serves as Vice President of Ballpark Entertainment for the Texas Rangers and is an industry staple that's willing to share his time with anyone who asks.
On the latest episode of SVG GameDay, DeRuyscher discusses the knowledge that he's gained over 25 years in Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals and Rangers, takeaways from events like the opening of Globe Life Field in 2020, winning the World Series in 2023, and hosting MLB All-Star in 2024, how he feels empowered to pay it forward by helping whoever he can, his beginnings at the collegiate powerhouse known as HuskerVision at the University of Nebraska, and much more.
