The Italian top tier of soccer, Serie A TIM, decided to overhaul the coverage of the games, putting in particular an emphasis on UHD coverage. This required an upgrade to the production infrastructure, which EI Towers, an Italian telecom service provider, was charged to deliver. The upgrade focused on delivering sharper visuals, greater detail, and superior color depth for live sports coverage. This case study will outline the challenges faced by EI Towers and the solution they ultimately delivered featuring solutions from Nevion, a Sony subsidiary.
