All-Access: Where's Next for Specialty Cameras in European Football?
SVG Europe's Football Summit 2025

PTZ cameras in tunnels, cine-style cameras pitchside, ref-cams attached to officials, corner cams in, well, corners and wire-cams stretched across the stadium: host broadcasters and content creators are finding more and more ingenious ways to use specialist cameras to bring fans closer to the players, the fans in the stadium, and the action on the pitch. But with directors not always needing the shots (or able to squeeze them into the coverage), and viewers and producers alike divided on the merits of them, this discussion will look at what works, what doesn’t, where else we could put specialist cameras, and how best to work with clubs, stadiums, leagues and federations to make it happen.
Speakers:
Emil Drexler, Sky Austria, Head of Sports Operations
Paul Munday, ACS (EMG/Gravity Media), Specialist Camera Design Engineer
