Live esports productions have grown in size and scale over the years, and to combat this growth, esports companies are tasked with pivoting and adjusting to accommodate these advancements. PGL Esports, which was founded in 2002 and handles event organization, studio, and video production, as well as TV and online streaming for international esports tournaments, are one of these entities. One of their biggest properties, The International, is an annual championship that pits teams from around the globe against each other to see who's the best at Dota 2.
At the 2023 SVG Esports Production Summit, PGL ESPORTS' Broadcast Producer Sebastian Honciuc highlights the role that the company plays in the esports space, the details that go into hosting and producing this worldwide event, and the overall challenges and collaboration it takes to put on a large-scale competition.
