Outside of the campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, FL, no one expected the Owls to defeat the Penny Hardaway-led Memphis Tigers, get passed No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson Knights after upsetting No. 1 Purdue, and upset No. 4 Tennessee and No. 3 Kansas State in back-to-back wins. With all of this momentum and history being made, the men’s basketball social media and digital team is capturing what it’s been like to ride this wave to the 2023 Men’s Final Four.
In Houston, SVG’s Brandon Costa chatted with FAU’s Men’s Basketball SID Evan Shomo about some of the behind-the-scenes content being captured in the postgame locker room, how the crew is adjusting to the high demand of responsibilities at an event that they aren’t used to covering, and gives advice to what first-time programs should do when they get an opportunity like this.
